Friday I’m In Love

June 26, 2009

Two posts in one day- crazy, eh?

I love when brides wear unique hair accessories. I think it is a lovely way to add a little color to that all white palette, and makes for some marvelous photographs as you can see in the recent post about Rhiannon and Tony. Her birdcage veil and flower pin completed the look. I recently stumbled upon the ban.do line who carries all sorts of hair accessories and corsages, even some scarves.

Next up? The Pioneer Woman. I love this blog. Ree calls herself a desperate housewife who channels Lucielle ball and Ethel Merman. She has  great sections of her blog including Cooking, Photography, and Home and Garden. Go give her a lookieloo, I think you’ll like her!

Sweet and Saucy Shop is located in Long beach, not really in my area, BUT if those desserts taste as good as they look, they may be worth the trip. ;) It’s a great site to check out for inspiration for mini desserts or, if you happen to be heading down south for your bridal shower, why not take one of their classes with your dearest friends?

Enjoy your weekend!

I came home from this wedding giddy with excitement over the images I knew I had captured from it. Rhiannon and Tony’s style was carried out so well through the day. The affair was understated and so stylish, I loved every minute of it. They chose to have an intimate ceremony at an incredibly stunning location, Old St. Hilary’s in Tiburon. Their reception was held in the private room of The Left Bank in Larkspur. (Rhiannon’s grandmother’s favorite restaurant, Rhiannon also wears her Grandmother’s ring) Because of the small size, Rhiannon and Tony were able to spend a lot of time with their guests, enjoying stories, fun, laughter and even a serenade by Tony’s good friends.

Rhiannon and Tony, every time I think of your wedding day I just can’t help but smile. I am so honored to have witnessed it and documented it for you. I know you will cherish these photographs for the many happy years that lie ahead of you two!

The church was beautiful, rustic yet elegant.

Old St. Hilary’s is so stunning. It sits perched on a hilltop in Tiburon with views of the bay.

For the reception, Rhiannon changed into this chic little dress which she found at a vintage/ consignment shop called Betty’s Boutique in Napa. The woman there takes apart vintage clothing and reworks them into one of a kind, custom fitted pieces.

Yesterday Janice and Robert were married at Casa Peralta in San Leandro. It is a historic landmark which has recently been restored to it’s appearance from the 1920’s. Both families came together to make this large wedding come together beautifully! Congrats Janice and Robert! Here is a little sneak peek of what is to come.

I loved getting to photograph this wedding. The sky was unreal, the guests were really fun, and Priscilla and Brandon are wonderful people. Congratulations to you both!

Priscilla’s dress was stunning- I love the broach (detail above).

The flowers were so beautiful! They are the creation of Kellye Kodak Clifford from Precious and Blooming. She does amazing work!

Finishing touches…

prisbranblog004

I love the look on Brandon’s face as he sees Priscilla for the first time.

prisbranblog006

Aren’t the skies unreal?  Cinnabar Hills was a gorgeous venue! The patio area where the ceremony took place was surrounded with beautiful landscaping and the rolling green and gold hills in the background against the blue blue sky was jaw-dropping.

One thing I really remember about this wedding is the joy and laughter had throughout the celebration.

As I left the wedding I shot this past weekend, I was swooning over the images I had of the day. It was one of those days where I couldn’t stop taking pictures. Everything about the wedding of Rhiannon and Tony was beautiful; from the bride and groom, the details and personal style that was carried through the day, to the weather and the guests. It was a wonderful affair. Enjoy this sneak peek of this wedding which took place at Old St. Hilary’s in Tiburon. More to come soon!

Rhiannon and Tony, thank you so much for letting me be a part of your day, I loved every minute of it!

Growing up in the South Bay, I have always been a fan of the Mountain Winery and the summer concert series they offer as well as the beautiful grounds they have- it is perfect for a wedding! It has changed since I first photographed a wedding there, this past year it underwent a renovation and it is now even more beautiful than before. They added some expansive terraces with views to die for! It boasts towering redwoods as well as golden hills covered in vineyards. The bowl, where the concerts are held is a great spot for photos and the reception space is romantic. If you are looking for a gorgeous venue, this just might be the spot for you. If you are considering it, they are hosting a preview of the 2009 menu on June 24th. Click here for details.

This is photo was taken with my iphone… after some yummy wine- please excuse the heads in it! :)

I got to spend Thursday evening there. With a sea of city lights dancing below and a blanket of stars turning high above, Jesse and I as well as a couple of our dear friends listened to the magic that is Rodrigo y Gabriela. If you haven’t listened to this Dublin based, Mexican duo, you should give them a try. They play acoustic guitars and create such a unique sound, you would swear they had 5 other instruments up there with them. I would say it is world music with a rock edge, but I hate to categorize it as it is truly unique. Their whole sound sounds like summer to me, and I love it!

Here are Rod y Gab doing their thing….

Rose and Radish based out of San Francisco has some wonderful floral arrangements and I love their website. They also sell fine art and the coolest looking wallpaper designs. Their website is clean and modern, I love looking through it.

Etsy oh Etsy, who doesn’t love perusing this site of all goods handmade? I love looking through the jewelry and hair accessories. So many gems to check out!

When photographing Priscilla’s dress this past weekend, I had to ask where she got it because it was just that gorgeous.  She had purchased it at The Unique Bride in Burlingame. When I checked out their website today, I noticed they are having a sample sale this coming weekend! They carry mid to high-end brands including Monique Lhuillier and Kenneth Pool. If you haven’t gotten your gown yet, you should check them out as the sample sale offers up to 75% off the original price!

Happy Thursday!

Shannen and Jason have been married for two whole weeks! Happy two week anniversary! :) I have been incredibly busy these last couple of weeks and am so glad to get to post more of their photographs from their wedding at the Lone Tree Golf Course as well as a slideshow.
